Senior Center Mealsite
Preparation of Noontime Meals
A nutritious noontime meal, wellness programs and community fellowship are provided daily, Monday through Friday, at each Senior Center.
The meals are prepared in the Western Senior Center kitchen and adhere to the nutrition standards set forth by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the NC Division of Aging. Menus and nutrition information are available at each Senior Center.
A variety of programs and activities are scheduled to entertain, exercise and energize everyone before the meal is served. Special guests offer information on topics related to health promotion, nutrition, and disease prevention, for example hearing screening, blood pressure checks, and diabetes management.
Our lunch guests engage in activities according to their interest and ability. There are hula hoop and singing sessions, chair aerobics, opportunities to interact with children of all ages, bingo, scavenger hunts, and holiday themed events throughout the year.
Meals are provided at no charge to clients who qualify. Many people who join us for lunch make individual client contributions.
