Nutritional Supplements
Special dietary demand require nutritional supplements. Our Nutrition Programs manager can assist by providing specific supplements for a variety of needs.
Supplements are provided through donations and through fund raisers held by the Council on Aging staff and Volunteers. If a senior has a specific need, or a doctor has recommended nutritional supplements, we can assist in obtaining the needed supply.
Home Delivered Meals
Meal routes cover every corner of Chatham County, providing the community with the assurance that no senior will be overlooked.
The Volunteers fill a critical need that goes beyond a nutritious lunch. As they come to know the people they visit, they refer other needs to our staff, such as fans in the hot summer, minor home repairs, and transportation for shopping or medical appointments.

Preparation of Noontime Meals
A nutritious noontime meal, wellness programs and community fellowship are provided daily, Monday through Friday, at each Senior Center.
The meals are prepared in the Western Senior Center kitchen and adhere to the nutrition standards set forth by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the NC Division of Aging. Menus and nutrition information are available at each Senior Center.
Food Pantry and Frozen Meals
The Senior Centers have food pantries stocked with donations of nonperishable, canned and shelf-stable foods donated by Chatham County citizens and support groups. The Council on Aging purchases supplies, including paper products and personal hygiene items, to supplement the food items.
The pantry items are offered to people who are in need, usually because of recent and unforeseen financial and health situations. The pantries are open during business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.to 4:30 p.m.
