Senior Games
The Chatham County Senior Games are held annually. Registration is open to all adults 55 years of age or better. Competing events include golf, bowling, tennis, bocce, horseshoes, swimming, track & field, softball, football, basketball shooting, visual, literary, performing arts and heritage arts.

Chatham County Senior Games 2010
The Chatham County Senior Games will be held April 28 through May 5 this year.

Registration is open to all adults 55 years of age or better. All registration forms are due by Wednesday, March 31, 2010.
Competing events include golf, bowling, tennis, bocce, horseshoes, swimming, track & field, softball and football throw, basketball shooting, visual, literary, performing arts and heritage arts.
Nutritional Supplements
Special dietary demand require nutritional supplements. Our Nutrition Programs manager can assist by providing specific supplements for a variety of needs.
Supplements are provided through donations and through fund raisers held by the Council on Aging staff and Volunteers. If a senior has a specific need, or a doctor has recommended nutritional supplements, we can assist in obtaining the needed supply.
Flu Shots
The Council on Aging supports the annual flu shot public health initiative. Flu shots clinics are offered at each senior center in the Fall. In 2009, the Chatham County Public Health Department will be providing the clinics. Watch for public announcements and additional information on our website.

Diabetes Support Programs
Group Noontime Exercise
Many common and chronic diseases can be effectively managed through appropriate treatment plans. The Council on Aging provides disease management education, as well as support programs, for high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, Alzheimer’s disease and heart disease.
Both senior centers offer opportunities for learning the latest information on disease management through monthly presentations and support groups.
